PM pays tribute to Dr Rajendra Prasad on his Jayanti

New Delhi : Generations of Indians have been inspired by first President Rajendra Prasad’s distinguished service, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he paid tributes to Dr Prasad on his 133rd Jayanti on Sunday.

As the first President of India, his leadership and guidance was extremely valuable for the nation during the formative years, Mr Modi said in an official statement.

'Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Rajendra Prasad became an active part of India’s freedom struggle. He participated in grassroot level movements such as the non-cooperation movement and provided great leadership to the Constituent Assembly as its President.

'Generations of Indians are inspired by Dr Rajendra Prasad’s distinguished service,' the Prime Minister said. (UNI)
