22 Delhi Police personnel conferred with Police Medals on 69th R-Day
Twenty-two personnel of the Delhi Police were awarded with Police Medals for their dedicated service on the 69th Republic Day here.Among the 22 awards given to the Delhi Police, three have been awarded Police Medal for gallantry, two for the President's Police Medal for distinguished service, while 17 other personnel were awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious service.
Police Medal for Gallantry was awarded to ACP Attar Singh of the Special Cell, Inspector Rajinder Kumar of Special Staff SE district and Inspector Ravinder Kumar Tyagi of the Special Cell while President's Police Medal for distinguished service was given to Additional Commissioner of Police Kamal Kant Vyas and ACP Surender Kumar Dahiya.
Police Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to DCP Rajveer Singh Chauhan, DCP Asif Mohd. Ali, DCP Sanjay Bhatia, DCP Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Addl DCP Varsha Sharma, ACP Shashi Bala, Inspector Som Nath Paruthi, Inspector Sandeep Malhotra, Inspector Raj Kumar, Inspector Krishan Prakash, Inspector Suresh Maskeen, ASI Jitender Dogra, HC Kishan Chand, HC Dev Kumar, HC Subhash Kumar, HC Ranbir Singh, HC Satish Kumar.
35 gallantry medals, including 2 Shaurya Chakras, awarded to CRPF on 69th R-Day
The Central Reserve Police Force was awarded with 35 medals for gallantry out of the total 107 police medals conferred on 69th Republic Day parade here on Friday. Out of the 35 medals, two ‘Shaurya Chakras’ have been awarded to Assistant Commandant Vikash Jakhar and Sub-Inspector Md. Riyaz Alam Ansari this year. Among 35 medalists, 27 CRPF brave-hearts were selected for the gallantry awards for their acts of valor in the terrorism- ridden Jammu and Kashmir, while the rest of the personnel were chosen for their bravado against the red rebels in the Maoist-hit Jharkhand.
According to the armed police force, their commandos were not only involved in planned operations,but also each single jawan throws up the grit and guts of the entire force in the line of duty.
The nation also honors the stand-alone gallantry of one such CRPF ASI Nand Kishore Prasad who couldn’t but leap out of his ROP duty with indomitable professionalism to foil a terrorist attack on a SFs convoy bus carrying unarmed transients near Bijbehera under Anantnag district of J&K on June 3 2016.
