New Delhi:Activist lawyer Prashant Bhushan on Monday moved Supreme Court seeking a review of its verdict convicting him and slapping a fine of Rs 1 on him for his tweets criticising the judiciary.
In his review petition, Bhushan sought immediate direction from the apex court for an open court hearing & stated that the suo motu contempt plea should not have been heard by Justice Arun Mishra, now retired as the judge.

Bhushan today also deposited the fine of Rs 1 imposed on him by the apex court in its order in the suo motu contempt case.  He, however, made it clear that he is paying the fine doesn't mean that he is accepting the judgement of the apex court.

In the contempt case, the apex court had convicted him and slapped a fine of Rs 1, as a token money, on him for his tweet against the judiciary. Bhushan, however, always maintained that he never had the intention of insulting the judiciary and said, he always respected the judiciary and want things should go in a proper manner. (UNI)
