Mandla: Making a massive electoral promise in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced on Thursday that – after her party assumes the state’s reins – amounts would be provided on monthly basis to every school pupil.

Addressing a Jan Aakrosh Rally at this tribal-dominated district’s headquarters, the visiting leader averred, “Under the Padho aur Padhao Yojana; Rs 500 each will be given to every student from the first to the eighth standard; Rs 1,000 for those in classes IX and X while those at the higher-secondary level will gain by Rs 1,500.”

Denouncing the Professional Examination Board inconsistencies as the worst scam ever, Mrs Priyanka said that it is still unclear as to exactly how many people were murdered in cold blood as part of the cover up even as no proper inquiry was conducted.

“The BJP has been in the state’s saddle for approximately 250 months during which 250 scams were perpetrated and 22,000 hollow announcements made. The Mandla-Jabalpur road is being ‘laid’ for a decade! Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari actually tendered an apology in this regard,” she claimed.

The Congress General Secretary alleged that an unemployment-linked exodus is taking place from Madhya Pradesh where land has been snatched, peasants are cold-shouldered, protests crushed and females subjected to atrocities.

“During polls, your attention is diverted by talk of religion and other emotional issues. BJP leaders misguide you,” she underlined. (UNI)
