New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to why the government has kept her in detention for past 28 hours without any order or FIR.

Taking to twitter today, she questioned PM Modi on why a Union Minister’s son “who crushed the farmers” was still not arrested.

Priyanka Gandhi also posted a video of a car ramming into the protesting farmers.

“Sir, your government has kept me in custody for the last 28 hours without any order and FIR. This person who crushed the food donor has not been arrested yet. Why?,” she asked in a tweet.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was taken into custody on Monday morning along with party leaders and others while on her way to Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh to meet the families of those who were killed during Sunday’s violence.

At least nine people including four farmers lost their lives during the clashes following a protest against the farm laws.

Slamming Modi for his participation in an Amrit Mahotsav in Lucknow, she said, “PM, you should remember the farmers who gave us independence. Besides, their sons are protecting our borders. Farmers are giving voice to their demands but you are ignoring them.”

“PM should visit Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the farmers to understand their pain. It’s your constitutional obligation to listen to them.” she requested.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said Priyanka will not give up and “Satyagraha will not stop”.

“The one who is kept in custody is not afraid - is a true Congressman, will not give up! Satyagraha will not stop,” he wrote in a tweet. (UNI)
