Sriharikota: In one of the longest missions, India’s workhorse launch vehicle PSLV-C51, carrying the 637-kg Brazillian satellite Amazonia-1 and 18 co-passenger satellites, lifts off from the SHAR Range, here on Sunday.

After a 22.5 hour countdown, during which propellant filling operations were carried out in the 44.4 m tall four-stage vehicle and amid clear skies, the home grown rocket took off majestically from the First Launch Pad at 1024 hrs, belching orange fumes and with a rumble that shook the earth.
