Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday said he will issue a Helpline number on March 23 -- the day revolutionary Bhagat Singh was hanged -- where people can complain to him if anyone asks for a bribe.
"On the day of Bhagat Singh's martyrdom we will issue anti-corruption Helpline number. That will be my personal WhatsApp number. If anyone asks you for a bribe, send me a video/audio recording of it. Strict action will be taken against the corrupt," Mann announced.
"Corruption will no longer exist in Punjab," he added.
This is the first major decision taken by Mann, who took oath on Wednesday at the ancestral village of Bhagat Singh at the head of an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
The AAP stored to power in Punjab this month, winning 92 of the 117 seats in the assembly. (UNI)
