New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal congratulated people of Punjab on Thursday, as his party is sweeping the state Assembly polls.
"Many congratulations to the people of Punjab for this revolution," he said, sharing a photograph of him and AAP's chief ministerial candidate in Punjab Bhagwant Mann on his twitter handle.
Meanwhile, Mann congratulated party workers for the victory.
Earlier, the chief ministerial candidate visited Gurudwara Mastuana Sahab and prayed for the future of the state and welfare of people.
Mann, who is contesting from Dhuri seat, won against nearest rival Congress candidate Dalvir Singh Goldy.
Party spokesperson Raghav Chadha said that the victory has made AAP emerge as a national force and called it the natural alternative to Congress at national level. He added it will emerge as the main challenger to BJP at a national level.
AAP is leading on 91 seats in Punjab while Congress, which was in power, is leading on 17 seats.
In 2017 Assembly polls Congress had won 77 seats, while AAP had won 20. (UNI)
