Four deaths were reported in firing inside Bathinda Military Station on Wednesday morning, the Indian Army informed.
As per statement by the HQ South Western Command, the firing incident took place around 04:35 hours.
The Station Quick Reaction Teams were activated and the area was cordoned off and sealed. Search operation in progress, HQ SW Command has informed.
As per Punjab police sources, there is no terror angle in Bathinda Military Station firing incident.
About two days ago one Insas rifle with 28 cartridges had gone missing. Some army personnel may be behind this incident, according to Punjab Police sources. (Inputs from agencies)
