Queen Elizabeth II death: India declares 1-day state mourning on Sunday

New Delhi: The Centre has declared one-day state mourning on Sunday over the demise of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen passed away on Thursday at the Balmoral palace, her Scottish estate.

"As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, the government has decided that there will be one day State Mourning on September 11, throughout India," Ministry of Home Affairs statement stated.

On the day of Mourning, the National Flag will be flown at half mast throughout India and there will be no official entertainment on the day, it stated. (UNI)
