Rahul Gandhi remembers Jawaharlal Nehru on his 57th death anniversary

New Delhi:Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday paid homage to the country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 57th death anniversary.
Paying tributes to his grandfather, the Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad quoted, “Evil unchecked grows, evil tolerated poisons the whole system."
 
'Remembering the wise words of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary,' he tweeted.
 
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also paid tributes to Nehru with a tweet in Hindi saying, 'I salute him Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India on the death anniversary.'
 
A freedom fighter and an author Nehru played a significant role in India's freedom struggle.
 
He was born to a prominent lawyer Motilal Nehru and Swarup Rani on November 14, 1889, in Allahabad and went on to become the first Prime Minister of the country.(UNI)
