Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is going to embark on the ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ from January 14 to March 20, AICC general secretary K C Venugopal announced on Wednesday.The yatra will start in northeastern Manipur and conclude in Mumbai.
At a press briefing held at AICC headquarters here on Wednesday, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also said Gandhi will cover 6200 kilometers from Manipur to Mumbai, which will pass through 14 states: Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and 85 districts.
“During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul raised three issues: economic inequality, social polarisation, and political dictatorship. But the issue of the Bharat Nyay Yatra is economic justice, social justice, and political justice,” he said.
Talking about the yatra, Jairam Ramesh said the first Bharat Jodo yatra was undertaken to connect India. The Bharat Nyay Yatra is to assure the people on behalf of the Congress party that the Congress is committed to ensure that economic justice, social justice, and political justice are fully available to the common people.(UNI)
