Srinagar: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi unfurled the national tricolor at the historic Lal Chowk on Sunday as part of his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is likely to culminate on Monday with a public rally to be held at AICC office Srinagar.
Accompanied by Prinyanka Gandhi, Jai Ram Ramesh AICC J&K President Vikar Rasool and Jammu and Kashmir affairs in-charge Rajni Patel, Rahul Gandhi unfurled the tricolor near the clock tower amid unprecedented security arrangements made at the historic Lal Chowk.
The unfurling of the national flag was accompanied with the playing of the national anthem.
The last leg of 135-day-long Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Srinagar’s Pantha chowk area amid tight security arrangements this morning.
The Bharat Jodo yatra started from Kanyakumari on September 7 and will culminate with a function at the AICC headquarters in Srinagar on Monday. (UNI)
