Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court on Monday rejected a petition filed by a Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA challenging the coalition of six Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) with the Congress party in 2018.The petition moved by Madan Dilawar had questioned the merger of the BSP MLAs and Speaker C P Joshi's silence over the matter.
After 2018 state Assembly results, BSP MLAs--Deepchand Kheria, Jogendra Awana, Lakhan Meena, Rajendra Gudha, Sandeep Yadav and Wajib Ali---asked the Congress party to merge them in their fold. Their demanded was accepted and the Speaker passed an order in this regard.

The High Court order brings a huge respite to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in the desert state which is walking a tight rope since former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and 18 other MLAs rebelled and left the state.Interestingly, the BSP on Sunday asked its six MLAs to not to vote in favour of Mr Gehlot if Floor test takes place.(UNI)
