New Delhi: BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy on Saturday said that MNS leader
Raj Thackeray's latest statement that Muslims should offer Namaz at home and avoid using
loud speakers for Azaan is only aimed at countering Shiv Sena led by his cousin Uddhav Thackeray.
"It is like competitive politics....perhaps to counter Sena, he (Raj Thackeray) has now gone little too far this time," Dr Swamy told a television channel.Dr Swamy suggested that rather efforts should be made to do things under constitutional provisionsand at the same time push the interest of Hindutva forces.

All India Muslim Personal Law Board member Dr M Farooqi also joined issue Raj Thackeray on the Azaan-loud speaker row."If Raj Thackeray thinks such road shows and use of loud speakers is bad....he should ban that all such religious acts by all communities are banned," he said.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray said on Saturday in Pune that: "I always ask Muslims that why do you need loudspeakers for Azaan? Who do you want to show? If you want to offer namaz, offer it at home. Why do you offer it on roads?"(UNI)
