Rajasthan: CM Ashok Gehlot flags off JITO Ahimsa Run

Jaipur: The JITO Ahimsa Run, which embodies the spirit of 'peace and non-violence' of the Rajasthan government, was held on Sunday.
 
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot flagged off the event from Shri Mahavir Jain Digambar Vidyalaya at 6.30 am and encouraged the runners.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gehlot said that the ideals of non-violence, peace and truth of Lord Mahavir and Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi are relevant even today.
 
We all should follow the path shown by him and spread his message to the people. We should take a pledge of non-violence in life by participating in activities like marathons.
 
He said that the same family, society, state moves forward, which follows the path of non-violence and peace.
 
The Chief Minister said that India is moving forward on the path of non-violence and peace. The Government of Rajasthan is also working towards the welfare of the people with this thinking.
 
Rajasthan is the only state in the entire country where the Department of Non-Violence and Peace has been created.
 
He said that the freedom struggle was also won on the basis of truth and non-violence. The message of non-violence and peace has spread all over the world from India.
 
MLA Rafiq Khan, Jeeto Jaipur Chapter Chairman Nitin Jain, JITO Connect Convener Vimal Singhvi and women chief patron Jaipur Saloni Jain were present on the occasion. (UNI)
