Jalore crime news
A shocking incident has emerged from Jalore district in Rajasthan, where a man allegedly cut off his mother-in-law’s nose with a pair of scissors following a family dispute and then fled with the severed piece.

According to police, the accused — identified as Sohan Lal — attacked his mother-in-law, Kaili Devi, on Friday evening in Bandha village of the Dungri area. The assault reportedly took place while the woman was on her way to lodge a complaint against him at the local police station.

Officials said the accused used a pair of crop-cutting scissors to carry out the attack. After the incident, the victim’s husband rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors said her condition is now stable and she is out of danger.

The brutal incident has left residents of the area shocked, while the victim’s daughter — who is the accused’s wife — is said to be deeply distressed.

Police said the accused had been involved in a long-running dispute with his wife’s family. Sohan Lal had married about six years ago, but frequent arguments between the couple led to them living separately for nearly a year. The ongoing tension had also strained relations between the two families.

Relatives had reportedly tried several times to resolve the dispute and reunite the couple, but the attempts failed. Authorities said tensions escalated on Friday following a heated argument at the house.

According to police, Kaili Devi was heading to the local police station to file a complaint against her son-in-law when he allegedly intercepted her and attacked her with scissors, severing her nose.

Mohan Lal, Station House Officer of Sarwana police station, said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to trace the accused.

Meanwhile, family members have taken the injured woman to a hospital in Mehsana, Gujarat for further treatment. Police said statements from the victim and other family members are yet to be recorded.
