Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University all set to start

Rae Bareli: The much awaited Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) aimed at facilitating and promoting aviation studies and research is likely to start functioning from this month. The Central university, the first one in the state, is all set to be inaugurated on August 18 by Union Civil Aviation Minister and state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Situated in the extended campus of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) in Fursatganj area, the University, spread out in 5 acres of area, for which the Central government had spent around Rs 200 crores, is the largest in Asia.
 


This would be the second such aviation university in Asia after Singapore, which is a smaller version. Official of the RGNAU here said that all preparation for a grand inauguration of the university is near completion and this month it would open.

The university will provide Under Graduate, Post graduate, Post Graduate Diploma and Research for the students. As it is the country's first aviation university, will give training of aerospace/rocket engineers, aspiring pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Technicians/engineers and cabin/ground crew. All flying schools in India are expected to become affiliated and supervised by the university, which would thus act as apex for Aviation education. (UNI)
