Lucknow: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has declared that construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will start by October 2018 as by then all the hurdles in construction of temple will be removed.Senior VHP leader Dr Surendra, who is also the national spokesman of the VHP, said that this is feasible because the government at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh want construction of Ram temple. "When Governments want it, people want it and at the top of it Sants want it, who can stop the construction of Ram temple,” he said.
Talking to UNI on telephone from Delhi on Tuesday, he said the recently held Sant Sammelan in Uddupi in Karnataka had declared that construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya will start by October 2018. “This is not an ultimatum, but just a declaration that construction will start by that time,” he said. When asked about the modalities he said this will be done either through court order or legislation. The mediation process is over. An attempt was made by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to find a solution to Ayodhya issue through dialogue but Muslims rejected this initiative.
“The way former Chief Justice of India JS Khehar offered mediation is commendable. The VHP respects the sentiments shown by the former Chief Justice of India, but when Muslims are not ready what can VHP do,” he said and added: “Muslims should first honour their commitment. Syed Shahabuddin has given in writing that archeologically it is proven that Mosque was built in Ayodhya atop a temple, he will carry bricks on his back for construction of temple there and ask Muslim to forego their claims on the place. ASI digging has proved that the mosque was built after demolishing a temple. Muslims should be gracious enough to give up their claim.”
The VHP spokesman said that he cannot say that how the hurdles over construction of Ram temple will be removed, but one thing is sure that construction of Ram temple will start by October 2018. “This is the 'Sant Vani' and this does not go wrong,” he said.(UNI)
