Ratnagiri SHOCKER! Sexual Abuse Case Reported at Warkari Gurukul, Kokare Maharaj and Teacher Booked

A shocking case of sexual abuse has come to light from a spiritual Warkari Gurukul located in Khed Taluka of Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra. The head of the Gurukul, Kokare Maharaj, and a teacher named Pritesh Prabhakar Kadam have been accused of molesting a minor student.

The Khed police have registered a case under Sections 12 and 17 of the POCSO Act and several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Both accused have been arrested and sent to two-day police custody by the court.

According to the police, the victim had been staying at the Warkari Gurukul in Lote for spiritual education, where Kokare Maharaj allegedly made repeated inappropriate advances toward her.

Threatened to Stay Silent

As per reports, when the girl confided in another member about the harassment, but she was threatened and warned to stay silent. It is alleged that she was told that Maharaj had strong social and political connections, and if she revealed anything, her family’s reputation could be ruined or they might face consequences. Eventually, the girl gathered courage and told her family about the incident. Acting swiftly, the family lodged a police complaint, after which both accused were taken into custody and an investigation began. The incident has sparked outrage among local residents.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) MLA Bhaskar Jadhav has voiced suspicion that more girls might have been victims of the assault.

Police are now conducting a detailed inquiry to determine whether other students at the Gurukul were also subjected to abuse.
