Renowned scientist, academician Yash Pal passes away

New Delhi: Renowned scientist and academician Yash Pal has passed away at Max hospital in Noida, family sources said today. He was 90. Prof Pal, who died at 2000 hrs last night, is survived by wife and two sons.

Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan awardee, Prof Pal had served as chairman of the University Grants Commission and the founder director of ISRO's Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad. His last rites will be held at Lodhi crematorium here at 1500 hrs. (UNI)
