New Delhi: The row over micro blogging messages attacking External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is far from over as a new missive in the micro blogging site has gone to the extent of urging her husband Swaraj Kaushal to "beat her up" to stop Muslim appeasement.
Mr Kaushal, a former Mizoram Governor, has retweeted the missive from one Mukesh Gupta and "Your (Gupta's) words have given us unbearable pain". "Just to share with you, my mother died of cancer in 1993. Sushma was an MP and a former Education Minister. She lived in the hospital for a year. She refused to engage a medical attendant and attended on my dying mother personally," wrote Mr Kaushal.In another missive, Mr Kaushal, an eminent lawyer and who negotiated Mizo Accord in 1980s, writes:
"Such was her devotion to the family. As per my father's wish, she (Sushma Swaraj) lit my father's pyre. We adore her".
"Please do not use such words for her. We are first generation in law and politics. We pray for nothing more than her life. Pls convey my profound regards to your wife," Mr Kaushal added.
Mukesh Gupta's tweet urging Mr Swaraj Kaushal to "teach" Sushma "not to do Muslim appeasement" came around 7.50 am on June 30.
Ms Swaraj has come under attack in the social network after the Ministry of External Affairs had transferred MEA official Vikas Mishra from Lucknow after the controversy over issuing passport to Tanvi Seth and her husband had surfaced.
"I was out of India from 17th to 23rd June 2018. I do not know what happened in my absence. However, I am honoured with some tweets. I am sharing them with you. So I have liked them," the External Affairs Minister wrote herself on June 24 at the end of her visit to Italy, France, Luxembourg, and Belgium.
Among some of the tweets those have been re-tweeted by Ms Swaraj last week included one that calls the government move to transfer the officer a "biased decision".Media reports earlier claimed that Tanvi Seth and her husband Mohammad Anas Siddiqui, married for 11 years, had claimed that they were humiliated and abused by the passport officer Vikas Mishra.
They also alleged that Mishra asked the husband to convert to Hinduism.The political parties like Congress and AIMIM also had joined the issue and targeted the BJP.The Congress party in its official Twitter handle said the official had no right to abuse anyone.
"No matter the situation or reason, nothing calls for threats of violence, disrespect and abuse.
@SushmaSwaraj ji, we applaud your decision to call out the heinous trolls of your own party," the principal opposition party said in a tweet.(UNI)
