Agartala: The ruling CPI-M anticipates communal politics will be fueled by the three day visit of Rastriya Sayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat in Tripura scheduled on December 16-18 ahead of assembly poll. The CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar today questioned the visit and demanded the details of his program in three days. Apart from the rally in Vivekananda stadium at Agartala scheduled in the afternoon of December 1, other programmes of Bhagwat during the visit is not known to the public.

“It is claimed that he will hold meeting of the organizational chiefs of northeastern states and review the activities of RSS in Tripura. Since RSS has been working for propagating and promoting Hinduism in India – naturally it raises questions when detail of his program are not publicised,” Dhar said.

He, however, pointed out that BJP is guided by RSS agenda to make India a Hindu state and Bhagwat's visit ahead of crucial assembly election in state like Tripura where believers of all sects and religions lived harmoniously together raised many question and it was deepened further when details of his programs were not revealed.“BJP leaders have been continuously instigating communal tension between tribal and non-tribal, Hindus and Muslims and rural and urban population for past six months, which has created law and order problem in the state, Bhagwat’s visit might aggravat the situation further if those confusions are not cleared immediately,” Dhar maintained.

Meanwhile, RSS state unit leaders stated that it is the second visit of Bhagwat in Tripura in past four years to attend organaisational program here. During the visit RSS head is scheduled to review organizational strength and meet religious leaders in Tripura.According to report, Bhagwat during his Tripura visit will hold brainstorming sessions with RSS pracharaks on the influence of Christian missionaries among the tribal communities. Besides, he will attend a program to be organized by Tripura Hindu Malayama Parichalan Samity that aims to unite Hindu believers.

RSS activist and former IGP of Tripura Bimal Kanti Roy told media that Bhagwat will be meeting organaisational ministers of northeast states. He claimed to make RSS Chief’s visit successful, and had already conducted more than 3000 community level meetings in the state in last six months and the organisers expecting the gathering of about 30,000 people in open rally of Bhagwat where Muslim, Christian and Buddhist leaders were also invited to attend.

He attributed that RSS has been working hard across the state especially in tribal belts mostly by running schools and offering services in need to strengthen the organizational base for long. There has been a huge surge in the activities of RSS in Tripura since 2014.According to the informed sources one third seats of the Tripura assembly are reserved to represent the tribal population and that’s why the RSS in order to boost the BJP’s poll campaign is trying to strengthen its roots in the tribal areas, and in view of the election Bhagwat’s Tripura visit is assumed to be significant. (UNI)
