Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta, Sushil Gupta chosen as AAP candidates for RS polls

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday announced the name of Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta as its candidates for the January 16 biennial elections to the three Rajya Sabha seats in Delhi."The decision on the names of Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta was taken in the meeting of the AAP Political Affairs Committee (PAC)," senior party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told a press conference here. 

Mr Singh, senior party leader and a close aide of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal; Delhi businessman Sushil Gupta and Chartered Accountant ND Gupta have been doing rounds as possible AAP nominees in the last few days.However, senior leader Kumar Vishwas, whose supporters have been demanding an RS seat for him, failed to get it for him.

The last date of filing nominations is January 5 while scrutiny of papers would be held the next day. The last date for the withdrawal of candidature is January 8. The AAP, which enjoys a brute majority of 66 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, is all set to win all the three seats.
