New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused an urgent hearing in plea seeking increased security for doctors in government hospitals.
There is no urgency to hear the matter as doctors have called off their strike in West Bengal and other states, a bench, headed by Justice Deepak Gupta, said."A detailed hearing shall be made after summer break,'' it added.
The petition was filed by lawyer Alakh Alok Srivastava in the wake of protests by doctors in West Bengal against an attack on their colleagues allegedly by the relatives of a patient who died on June 10 at Kolkata's NRS Hospital.
