New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday said that former chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh were not entitled to get government bungalows.The apex court division bench, headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi, quashed the law passed by the Uttar Pradesh Government granting permanent residential accommodation to former chief ministers.
The top court in its order said that the former chief ministers are not entitled to be granted such facility after demittig their office.While striking down the UP State Government law, the apex court said, section 4(3) of UP Ministers (salaries, allowances & miscellaneous provisions) Act, 2016 is unconstitutional.(UNI)
