Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader P C Chacko on Wednesday announced his resignation from the party, ahead of the Assembly elections in Kerala.
In a press conference, Chacko alleged that candidates for the upcoming elections in the state were being decided in an undemocratic manner. “I have sent my resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi”, Chacko said.
Political observers are terming this development as a major blow to the grand-old party in the poll-bound Kerala.
The southernmost state of India is set to go to polls on April 6. The results will be declared on May 2. (UNI)
