Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday hit a fresh record high of 36,631.82 advancing by 83.41 points in opening session on strong global cues.The 50-share of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 9.85 points to 11,033.05.
The sectoral indices that increased were Energy, IT and Technology. In scrips, Infosys, Wipro, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank kept the market strong for sixth straight session.In addition, firm Asian cues and a strengthening rupee against the dollar supported the rally.
The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,740.07 and 36,528.05 respectively.The Nifty registered intra day high and low at 11,071.35 and 10,999.75 respectively.
The gainers were Infosys by 2.84 pc to Rs 1331.35, Wipro by 1.61 pc to Rs 284, Reliance Industries by 1.55 pc to Rs 1098.95, Coal India by 1.24 pc to Rs 268.50 and HDFC Bank by 1.05 pc to Rs 2188.
The losers were Axis Bank by 2.36 pc to Rs 524.55, ONGC by 1.92 pc to Rs 156, SBI by 1.88 pc to Rs 257.80 and ICICI Bank by 1.54 pc to Rs 268.20.(UNI)
