Cong has outsourced its leadership in Gujarat: Shah

Cong has outsourced its leadership in Gujarat: Shah
, Sunday, 3 December 2017 (10:48 IST)
New Delhi : BJP chief Amit Shah on Saturday said the Congress had gone totally bankrupt to the extent that it had to “outsource its leadership in the Gujarat election.”

The Congress’ dependence on Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mewani and Alpesh Thakor shows that they have to rely on outsourcing of leaders in the state, Mr Shah said in a interview to Republic Television.

Mr Shah also said caste politics had no place in the state and the people of Gujarat will not accept election based on caste. When asked about the Patel drifting away from the BJP, Mr Shah said, “The Patel community has always been with us and will remain with us”.

Mr Shah also sought to repulse Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s attack in which he questioned the BJP chief’s Hindu credentials saying, “I am a Hindu of seven generations”.

“Why should I be worried about Rahul Gandhi’s allegation,” when asked about the Congress’ statement that he was a Jain and not a Hindu, while Rahul Gandhi is a “Jenayudhari Hindu”.

Dismissing the allegation labeled by Mr Gandhi that 13,000 government schools have been closed in the state, the BJP chief asked the Congress vice-president to name even one school that has been closed.

When asked about the Congress’ allegation that his son Jay Shah’s company had earned a profit of Rs 80 crore in no time, the BJP chief said the grand old party was confusing turnover with the profit.

“Jay Shah had not taken any government contracts, the charges are baseless and I pity the intelligence of Rahul Gandhi,” he added.Mr Shah said since the allegations were baseless so his son had filed defamation case against the Congress.
All the charges of the BJP against the Congress were based on the findings of Constitutional bodies, he added. In fact, it was Jay Shah who had moved an application in the court requesting for a day to day hearing of the case where as the Congress had only postponed dates, he added. (UNI)
