Ahmedabad: Shewta Brahmabhatt has become an overnight darling of social media. She is neither a newbie actress, who is all set to make a debut in Bollywood nor a model. She is a congress candidate who will take on BJP candidate Suresh Patel in the upcoming Gujarat elections. The party high command has placed her in Maninagar seat which is a BJP bastion and PM Narendra Modi has also emerged victorious on this seat in the past.
 


Her selection also sent a wave of internal protest in the congress party, but Shweta has been unaffected by it. Twitteratis might think that she is a model, but Shweta is a managing consultant by profession. She has completed her masters from UK based Westminster Business School. Besides, she has also completed the study of political leadership from IIM. As per her statement, she is in politics to empower women.

She hails from a political background. Her father Narendra Brahmbhatt was a congress leader who contested in the municipal corporation elections in Ahemdabad in 2000. Shweta was also offered ticket in 2012 state assembly elections, but she had other plans. (Pic- twitter)
