In a shocking incident, three members of a family reportedly died after eating roasted chana in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district.

The tragic incident took place in Mohammadpur Barwala village, which comes under the Narsena police jurisdiction.

The victim family bought roasted chana from a market vendor on the evening of November 24. They had capsicum in dinner at home later that night. Few hours later, they vomited blood and their condition deteriorated leading to the death of Kalua Singh (50) and his young grandson, Golu (8). On November 26, the Kalua’s wife, Jugendri Devi, also passed away after being hospitalised for treatment.

The tragic deaths have raised serious concerns, as the remaining family members, including a young girl, are still receiving medical treatment.

Senior police authorities, including Bulandshahr SSP Shlok Kumar, conducted a thorough inquiry into the deaths.

According to SSP, initial reports indicated that the four family members became ill after eating the roasted chana, and the cause of their illness and eventual deaths will be determined through autopsies.
