Bhopal: Undoubtedly, the most poignant aspect of independent India’s history is the fact that thousands of Army officers and men have made the supreme sacrifice either defending Kashmir against external aggression or providing internal security to the Valley, therefore a sense of righteous indignation was sparked off when a question in a recent examination – conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission – asked candidates whether Kashmir should be handed over to Pakistan.
The issue has stirred up a veritable hornets’ nest in this state.
Two arguments accompanied the query. The one in favour postulated that such a move would result in immense curtailment of expenditure while the one against said that such a decision would result in the Lernaean Hydra-like spawning of similar demands. The first reply option was that both contentions are sturdy and the second was that neither holds water.
“Two paper setters – one from this state and the other from Maharashtra – have been debarred from all MPPSC work. A communication is being despatched to the Higher Education Department vis-à-vis initiating further action against the duo,” Home Minister and government spokesman Narottam Mishra told media representatives on Tuesday.
