Mysuru: BJP President Amit Shah on Friday said that ruling Congress headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah cannot retain power in the next Assembly election as there was spree of murders on BJP workers in the state.
Alleging that more than 23 BJP workers were murdered in the recent past in the State, Mr Shah said the “countdown of Siddaramaiah government has started and Karnataka will soon became Congress Mukt.”
Mr Shah who has been frequenting Karnataka and touring the entire state to ensure a BJP victory in the May 12.
Assembly poll arrived here on a two-day tour of old Mysore area. He would interact with various sections of the community during his current visit.
Talking to newsmen after conveying his condolence to family members of BJP worker Raju who was brutly murdered recently, Mr Shah promised that after BJP government headed by Mr Yeddyurappa comes to power, the culprits wherever they were hiding, will be brought to book and they will be put behind the bars.
Mr Shah alleged that under Siddaramaiah rule, the law and order has totally failed and crimes, including rape, murder, and chain snatching, are increasing day-by-day and the State police have failed to arrest the culprits behind the murders.
The BJP President earlier met Yaduveer Wadiyar his Mother Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of Scion of Royal family late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, at the Palace and was with them for more than 20 minutes. He also greeted the newly born baby boy of Yaduveer. Mr Shah was given a traditional welcome by putting Mysore Peta and garland when he arrived.
However, Mr Shah declined to reveal the details of the discussion he had with the Royal family members.
Mr Shah’s visit to Royal family assumed importance in political circles as news was spread that efforts were made to rope in Yaduveer into BJP before the May 12 Assembly election.
However, Mr Yaduveer had ruled out not only joining BJP but also against identifying himself with any political party.
Mr Shah also had a darshan of Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt before beginning his election tour. (UNI)
