New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, who took an oath as minister in Arvind Kejriwal cabinet on Sunday, thanked 1,310 donors who helped him to raise Rs 28 lakh to fight the election.
"Today as I restart my journey as minister in Arvind Kejriwal cabinet, I would also like to thank all the people who contributed funds for my election in Patparganj. Total 28 lakh was contributed online within 48 hrs," Mr Sisodia who held education along with Finance, Planning Land & Building and other portfolios in the previous AAP government tweeted.
"Mission accomplished! 28 Lakhs required to fight election in my assembly raised online through crowdfunding in just 2 days! Big thanks to each of the 1310 donors who made it possible.U give me confidence that people of our country strongly want to stand behind clean politics," he retweeted his one month old tweet.
Mr Sisodai won Patparganj assembly seat by defeating his nearest rival Ravi Negi of the BJP with a margin of more than three thousand votes. (UNI)
