Six Trinamool MLAs in Tripura join BJP

New Delhi/Agartala: Six Trinamool Congress legislators, who voted for BJP nominee Ram Nath Kovind, in the Presidential elections,  joined the saffron party in Tripura capital Agartala along with their supporters. "Six TMC MLAs join BJP in Tripura with thousands of workers in the presence of Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Himanta Biswa Sarma and others," BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said in a tweet.

On a visit to the Left-ruled state in Northeast India, BJP general secretary Mr Madhav yesterday reviewed the organisational activities and has taken the stock of party in North Tripura and Dhalai districts besides other parts of the state. The Assembly elections are due in the state by February-March next year. (UNI)
