SM Krishna under ICU care at Manipal Hospital, condition stable

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna, who was admitted to Manipal Hospital on April 30 for a minor ailment, remains under intensive care, attended by a critical care team.
 
Krishna, 91, is currently receiving treatment under the supervision of a team of doctors led by Dr. Satyanarayana and Dr. Sunil Karanth. While still in the ICU, his condition is reported to be stable and showing signs of improvement.
 
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, after visiting the veteran politician at the Bengaluru Hospital, conveyed his optimism regarding Krishna's recovery. "I visited him. He is showing improvement, and I extend my best wishes for his speedy recovery," he remarked following the visit.
 
SM Krishna, a prominent figure in Indian politics, has held several significant positions, including Karnataka Chief Minister from October 11, 1999, to May 28, 2004. He also served as the External Affairs Minister in the UPA government from 2009 to 2012 and as the Governor of Maharashtra.
 
In March 2017, after almost five decades with the Congress, Krishna joined the BJP. He retired from active politics last year, marking the end of a distinguished political career.
