Lucknow: With the stage set for re-election of Samawadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav tomorrow, party's 10th national convention will set the agenda for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. The last emergency convention on January 1 this year, at which Akhilesh had been chosen president in place of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav, was organised in a hurry.
Tomorrow's event is being organised in a planned way after a series of backroom negotiations among the warring factions within Samajwadi Party.Reports suggest that Akhilesh Yadav will formally be elected president for a five-year term for the first time.Political observers are of the opinion that the real challenge for the former chief minister would begin now as it would be a difficult task to fight against the ruling dispensation both in Uttar Pradesh and at the Centre.
