Rameswaram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had an aerial darshan of Ram Setu on Sunday on his way back from Sri Lanka and termed it as a divine coincidence, as the day marked Lord Rama's birthday being celebrated as Ram Navami.
He said Lord Ram was the uniting force for all.
Mr Modi had the darshan of the Ram Setu from the Navy helicopter before landing in Mandapam near here on his way back from Sri Lanka.
According to the Ramayana, the construction of Ram Setu was initiated from Dhanushkodi near Rameswaram from where Lord Ram went to Sri Lanka to rescue is wife Sita from Ravana.
Adam's Bridge also known as Rama's Bridge or Rama Setu is a chain of natural limestone shoals between Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, off the southeastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India and Mannar Island, off the northwestern coast of Sri Lanka.
Mr Modi, sharing his spiritual moment through a video of his aerial darshan in his X page, said "On the way back from Sri Lanka a short while ago, was blessed to have a Darshan of the Ram Setu."
"And, as a divine coincidence, it happened at the same time as the Surya Tilak was taking place in Ayodhya", he wrote.
"Blessed to have the Darshan of both", he added.
"Prabhu Shri Ram is a uniting force for all of us. May His blessings always remain upon us", Mr Modi said.
Mr Modi spent about half an hour at the temple.
