Former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand arrested by SIT in UP

Shahjahanpur:Former Union Minister Swami Chinmayanand was arrested on Friday morning from his Mamuksh ashram here by the Special Investigation Team on charges of sexual harassment of a law student.Sources here said that SIT along with police raided the ashram at around 0800 hrs and arrested him.

After his arrest, the SIT team took the BJP leader to a hospital for his medical examination.Later, Chinmayanand would be produced in a court where the SIT will seek his police remand for further interrogation.(UNI)
