Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal’s former husband Naveen Jaihind has claimed threat to her life and “anything could happen” to her hours after her party admitted to assault on the former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief by Bibhav Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Personal Secretary.

In a video posted on social media, Jaihind claimed that Maliwal's life was in danger and Sanjay Singh is "acting" and that he knew about the entire incident.

He also alleged that Sanjay Singh is trying to "intimidate her into silence."

He, however, mentioned that he has not spoken to Maliwal since their divorce in 2020.

Earlier in the day, addressing the media over Swati Maliwal assault case, AAP MP Sanjay Singh admitted that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's PA Bibhav Kumar had misbehaved with her at CM’s residence on Monday and party does not support such people and strict action will be taken in this regard.

On Tuesday, Singh said, “Yesterday, very condemnable incident occurred. Swati Maliwal arrived at Arvind Kejriwal's residence to meet him. While she was waiting for Kejriwal, Vibhav Kumar arrived and misbehaved with her.”

“Swati Maliwal has informed about this incident to the Delhi Police. This is a condemnable incident. Arvind Kejriwal has taken cognizance of the incident and has directed for strict action in the incident,” Singh added.

He further said, “Swati Maliwal has contributed significantly to the nation and society. She is one of the senior and esteemed leaders of the party. We all stand with her. The strict action will be taken against the unfortunate incident that has occurred with her.”

“AAP does not support such individuals,” Singh added.
