Third batch of 2876 Amarnath pilgrims leave from Jammu amid rains

Jammu: Amid rains a third batch of 2876 pilgrims on Friday left for the holy cave shrine from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole'.
Despite incessant rains and blockades at certain places on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway the third batch comprising of  2876 Amarnath pilgrims left the base camp in 90 light and heavy vehicles under tight security arrangements.
 
The pilgrims included 2,332 men and 544 women."There were no Sadhus and children in the batch," said an official.So far 9,305 yatris have left the Jammu base camp for Kashmir valley for this year's ongoing pilgrimage since June 27.(UNI)
