3 jawans dead, 5 injured as gypsy turns turtle in Sri Ganganagar

Sri Ganganagar:Three Army personnel died of burn injuries and five others were injured when an Army vehicle caught fire after overturning in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan.
According to Station in-charge Vikram Tiwari, "Injured soldiers have been admitted to the government hospital in Suratgarh."
 
The accident took place near Rajeysar Chhatargarh road late on Wednesday night at around 0130 hrs at the Rajiyasar police station area.
 
Eight soldiers of the Army's 47 Armored Regiment (Bathinda, Punjab) were travelling in a Gypsy when suddenly the vehicle over-turned and fell amid the bushes and caught fire preventing the jawans from escaping.
 
On hearing the sound and seeing the flames rising, the villagers rushed and pulled out five soldiers but three could not be evacuated and succumbed on the spot.The deceased have been identified as Subedar A Mamager, Head Constable Dev Kumar and Havildar SK Shukla.
 
Five personnel, who sustained injuries are-- SK Prajapati (35), Ankit Bajpai (34), Umesh Yadav (27), Ashok Ojha (28) Bablu (27). The Emergency ambulance Service 108 sent the casualties to the government hospital in Suratgarh.
 
Police sources said that the villagers who reached the spot called the fire service in Suratgarh.
The Army officials also reached the spot for investigation.(UNI)
