Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced that Trinamool Congress (TMC), will contest the coming Lok Sabha election alone and not as part of the I.N.D.I.A block.

"They will contest the election for Bengal's 42 Lok Sabha seats on its own strength and have no truck with the I.N.D.I.A bloc, " Banerjee said before leaving Bardhaman district.

"I have no truck with the Congress... we will fight alone (and) will decide on an all-India level after the election, " the TMC chairperson said.

She said her party wanted to give two seats to the Congress, but they wanted more, which was not acceptable to the TMC.

Banerjee also slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his 'Bharat Jodo Nay Yatra', which will enter Bengal on Thursday but might skip Kolkata.

"They are scheduled to come to West Bengal, but they (Congress) have no courtesy to inform us, " the CM said.

She said the Congress can fight up to 300 seats and let other parties contest.
