TRAGIC! Mobile phone snatched toddler’s life in Tripura

Agartala: Two-and-a-half-year-old Sonakshi Debbarma of Moracherra village in Tripura’s Unakoti district lost her life due to addiction to a mobile phone.

Police said that while her sick mother was asleep yesterday, the toddler picked up the mobile phone lying in the room. Watching videos, she wandered outside near the roadside drain.

Suddenly, the phone slipped from her hand, and while trying to pick it up, she fell into the drain and lost her life.

Workers nearby later spotted her lifeless body and informed others. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The untimely death of Sonakshi has cast a shadow of grief over the village.
