Tragic road accident in Aligarh: Pothole causes death of Class 8 girl; tractor runs over her

Aligarh: In a tragic incedent, a 13-year-old schoolgirl lost her life due to the poor condition of local roads.

The accident occurred on Saturday night when the girl, riding pillion on a bike with her father, fell after the vehicle lost control due to potholes. Moments later, a speeding tractor ran over her head, killing her on the spot.

The victim, was identified as Aradhya Saxena, a Class 8 student at Range Hills School. Her father, Vishal Saxena, works for a private company and also delivers home-cooked meals prepared by his wife. On the night of the incident, around 8:30 pm, Vishal was on his way to deliver a food parcel with Aradhya accompanying him on his bike.

As they approached Kiyampur Mod, the bike lost control due to the pothole-ridden road, causing Aradhya to fall onto the street. Before her father could react, a tractor approaching from behind ran over her. The tractor’s rear wheel crushed her head, leading to her immediate death.

The tractor driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Vishal, devastated, carried his daughter's body home in shock and grief.

SHO Jogendra Singh confirmed the incident and stated that the accident happened during an overtaking maneuver. The tractor has been seized, and a search is underway to apprehend the absconding driver. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
