New Delhi: Parts of North India including Delhi and the National Capital Region experienced mild tremors on Thursday after an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 hit Afghanistan at around 2:50 pm.
The depth of the earthquake was 220 km.
The National Center for Seismology in a post on X said, “Earthquake of Magnitude:6.1, Occurred on 11-01-2024, 14:50:24 IST, Lat: 36.48 & Long: 70.45, Depth: 220 Km, Location: Afghanistan.”
The tremors were also felt in Srinagar and other major areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
No loss and casualties have been reported so far.
