New Delhi: Mr Mansukh Mandaviya took charge as the Union Health Minister on Thursday. He has been elevated to the Cabinet rank on Wednesday’s mega reshuffle of the Council of Ministers and brought to the Union Health Ministry by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking to twitter after taking charge of the Ministry, he said, "Today, I took over as the charge of Heath and Family Welfare as Cabinet Minister. I am committed to fulfil the aspiration of respected Prime Minister@narendramodi ji’s of healthy India and determined to serve the people tirelessly.
However, a section of Twitter users dug up his old tweets to troll him for his lack of proficiency in English.
In one of his old tweets, Mandaviya had mistakenly written ‘Mahatma Gandhi was our nation of father’. A user posted the screenshot and mocked Mandaviya saying he is the ‘health of minister’.
Along with Mansukh Mandaviya, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar took charge as the Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare.
Both the Ministers were received by the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan and other senior officials of the Ministry. (With UNI inputs)
