Two killed by Maoists alleging police informant links in Telangana

Two individuals, including a Panchayat Secretary, were brutally killed by Maoists on Thursday at midnight at Penugolu Colony in Vajedu Mandal, Mulugu district, Telangana.According to police reports, a group of Maoists attacked Peruru Panchayat Secretary Ramesh and a local resident, Arjun, with an axe, accusing them of acting as police informers. Arjun was killed on the spot, while Ramesh succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

The assailants left two letters near the victims' bodies, purportedly signed by Shanthi, the Venkatapuram-Vajedu Area Committee Secretary of the Maoist group.In response, the police have issued a high alert along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border and have intensified security measures in the region.Investigations are ongoing, police officials said.(UNI)<>
