New Delhi:Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act Tribunal headed by a Delhi HC Judge has confirmed the ban on JKLF (Yasin Malik faction) under anti-terror law,  a Gazette notification said.
The tribunal headed by Justice Chandra Shekhar of Delhi High Court on Wednesday said that the activities of JKLF (YM faction) has been disruptive in character which threatened sovereignty and territorial integrity of India.

Tribunal also said that the JKLF-Y has been acting in collusion with other similar groups to disrupt peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. The central government had sufficient credible material and grounds for  declaring JKLF-Y as an 'unlawful association'.

JKLF has been accused of supporting terrorist activities, and many cases are registered against JKLF. These cases include the murder of four Air Force officers and the kidnapping of Rubaiyya Saeed, the daughter of  former Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Mohammed Saeed.
This proscribed organisation used to provide funds illegally to promote terror and  has also been actively involved in the disbursement of funds and promotion of subversive activities among Hurriyat activists and stone-pelters to raise funds in the valley by raising funds.

On March 29, 2019 the Union Home Ministry had issued the order declaring the JKLF-Y as a "banned outfit" under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.(UNI)
