Ujjain: Gulaal triggered fire during bhasma aarti in Mahakal temple, 14 injured (VIDEO)

At least 13 persons including 4 priests were injured after a fire broke out during bhasma aarti at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain on Monday.

Eyewitnesses said the fire broke out while gulaal was thrown during the bhasma aarti inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple during Holi festivities.

The injured have been admitted to the hospital. On receiving information about the incident, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav himself contacted the Ujjain administration and gave the officials the necessary instructions.

Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said, 'A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the fire incident which took place during Bhasm Arti in the Mahakal temple.'

The Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Mrinal Meena, and Additional Collector, Anukul Jain, will review the entire incident and submit the report within three days.
